Taxes/RatesProperty Taxes: 36 cents per $100 of assessmentThe property taxes are calculated by the Village based on the above rate and are collected on behalf of the Village by the Municipality of the County of Kings along with the Villages sewer rates and other County taxes. Water Rates:These rates were effective July 1, 2007 as approved by the Water Utility Review Board. Water bills are sent out and monies collected by the Village Office after each meter reading. Usage Rate is calculated based on the readings taken by Stan Hancock on a quarterly basis (march/june/sept/dec). The rate is 55 cents per cubic metre of water used. Sprinkler system rate: This rate is $88.00 annually for buildings served by a sprinkler service pipe of 6" diameter or less. Sewer Rates:These rates are based on water usage. A flat rate of $210.00 for water usage up to 50,000 gallons and then a rate of $3.50 for every 1,000 gallons above that. Sewer charges are collected by the Municipality of the County of Kings on behalf of the Village and are found on your property tax bill. |
