Port Williams is one of the best places on earth to see the vertical rise and fall of the World's Highest Tides. The water level at high tide can be as much as 16 metres (52 ft.) higher than low tide. Tides happen every 12 hours and 25 minutes (or nearly an hour later each day).
Port Williams participates each year in the Annapolis Valley Apple Blossom Festival. The following Princesses represented Port Williams and became Queen Annapolisa.

Schools:
Port Williams Elementary School
In June 1991 our school won the "Work and Well Being" Title from the provincial division of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). In the category of Small Employer, Port Williams became the first school in the history of the provincial competition to win this award.
In the September 1996 issue of Today's Parent magazine, Port Williams Elementary received national recognition when it was profiled as one of the top five great schools in Canada.

Starr's Point Cemetery - The last resting place of the pioneer Planter settler, Major Samuel Starr.
Fox Hill Cemetery - Many of the first English families are buried at Fox Hill.
